Such pain is not normal. I used to get backpack every month or so. To a level that I could not move anymore. Posture is very important. I see where OP is coming from. Workers are being treated increasingly worse, but there seems to be no collective response so far. Sure, workers are not being discriminated against and murdered (yet), but if that’s the standard for protests, it’s unreasonably high.

Today I was at a conference. This one talk was about how the guy had hacked IntelliJ Idea to work as a game engine. He was showcasing how he implemented well known games from different eras. From Pong up to Guitar Hero. At every step, when he asked the audience what could be the next game, someone would call “donkey kong” or “super mario” and he would say “I am not touching anything Nintendo, even with a 10 foot pole”. It was pretty funny.

Maybe look inti teaching programming. It doesn’t pay as much, but it’s very rewarding. Doesn’t have to be with a university or something. For example, I teach springboot at a private institute. We have bootcamps, but also full, accreditted bachelors. I get to talk about talk about programming a lot, share my knowledge, expand my knowledge, give fun extracurricular talks every once in a while, write new coursework, write fun exercises. Maybe there’s something like that near you

My daughter is turning 12 and going to secondary school after summer. I’m hopefully graduating my bachelor after summer. My wife is starting nursing school after summer.
